Beginnings

From first beginnings

out to undiscovered ends,

nothing’s worth the winning

save laughter and the love of friends

Be Flexible

I often think of relating things to nature and how people can react similar to nature reacting to outside forces. I cannot remember where I’ve seen this excerpt so I apologize for not giving credit but it left an impression on me ever since I read it years ago.  When your confronted with a difficult situation, try to move with the punches similar to a tree bending with the wind. The more rigid in your beliefs/opinions, the more likely you will break down and not grow with wisdom and knowledge.  Do not meet resistance with resistance, but instead, allow it bounce off of you as if you are protected by an invisible barrier.  I guess we can’t escape the laws of nature. Thats a good thing!

Think of Good Things

When times seem to go bad, always say to yourself “I am strong, I am good, I can get through it! Repeat it several times, and think of all the good things you did that day, no matter how insignificant they may seem.  It’ll make you feel better. or at the very least, it will get you through the moment.

Don’t Ever Forget That You Are Special

Don’t ever forget that you are unique.

Be your best self and not an imitation of someone else.

Find your strengths and use them in a positive way.

Don’t listen to those who ridicule the choices you make.

Travel the road that you have chosen and don’t look back with regret.

You have to take chances to make your dreams happen.

Remember that there is plenty of time to travel another road – and still another in your journey through life.

Take the time to find the route that is right for you.

You will learn something valuable from every trip you take, so don’t be afraid to make mistakes.

Tell yourself that you’re okay just the way you are.

Make friends who respect your true self.

Take the time to be alone, too, so you can know just how terrific your own company can be.

Remember that being alone doesn’t always mean being lonely; it can be a beautiful experience of finding your creativity, your heartfelt feelings, and the calm and quiet peace deep inside you.

Don’t ever forget that you are special.

Mind

“The longer I live, the more I realise the impact of attitude on life.  Attitude is more important than facts.  It is more important than the past, education, than money, success, than what other people think or say or do.  It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill.  It will make or break a company …a church…a home.”     -Charles Swindoll

Running in the woods

There is nothing better than running in the woods with friends on a warm summer day. That is what I would call being in the present.
